Jerome "Jerry" J. Robison

August 21, 1934 — July 25, 2022

Jerome J. Robison was born on August 21, 1934, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and passed away peacefully on July 25, 2022 with his family by his side. He was the second of three children, born to Miles and Fern (Pacot) Robison. Miles and Fern moved their family to Maumee, Ohio, where Jerry attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School through 8 th grade. He graduated from Maumee High School, where he earned varsity letters in basketball and baseball. Jerry completed his first year of undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan before realizing he was a Buckeye at heart. He transferred to Ohio State where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and then his law degree.

While in college, Jerry met Jeannette Schuster on a blind date on New Year’s Eve. According to Jan, she knew by the end of that night that she was going to marry Jerry. Jan’s prediction proved correct, and they were married on September 7, 1957.

After law school, Jerry started his career in the Trust Department at the Toledo Trust Company. He then took a position at the City National Bank of Columbus, until his move back to Perrysburg and the Toledo Trust Company. He continued with the bank as it became Trustcorp, Inc., Society Bank, and then Key Bank. He became Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of Northwest Ohio's Trust Wealth Management. After his retirement from Key Bank in 2003, he worked with Stephen Stranahan at his holding company, Entelco.

Jerry served on the boards of the Way Public Library, the Visiting Nurses Association, Jobst Vascular Institute, and the Black Swamp Conservancy. He was a member of the Toledo Estate Planning Council, the Toledo Bar, the Ohio State Bar, and Ohio Bankers Association. He served as Treasurer of the St. Rose Cub Scouts and of the Perrysburg Democrats as well as several political candidates.

Jerry loved sports and was especially passionate about Buckeye football and basketball. Jerry was a self-taught tennis player and played competitively around Toledo until he was nearly 80.

Jerry was a movie fan extraordinaire with a wonderful collection of movies, especially musicals. His favorite was “Singing in the Rain.” He enjoyed listening to music, was an avid reader, and loved travel, especially the trips he and Jeannette made to Europe and Africa. They both cherished spending time with family and friends at their lake house near East Tawas, Michigan.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeannette; children, Matthew (Dorraine), Mary (Steven Davis), and Joseph (Kelley); grandchildren, Samuel, Nicholas, and Alexandra; sister, Virginia Kinney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Fern Robison, and sister, Martha Addison.
