Jerome Edmund "Jerry" Langenderfer, 91, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on December 15, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on October 5, 1934, in Toledo, he was the son of Jerome Stephen Langenderfer and Frances (Piper) Langenderfer, and brother to Jane Langenderfer.
Jerry graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1952 and later served two years in the United States Army, including service in Germany, before returning home to Toledo. He met his future wife, Mary Miller, on the softball field, beginning a partnership that would span more than six decades.
Jerry was a dedicated employee of Toledo Edison for 47 years, working as a design draftsman in support of the work that powered the Toledo community. He valued his coworkers and remained close with his engineering colleagues, meeting with them monthly.
Outside of work, Jerry found joy in his family, working around the house, and traveling. He was a member of Christ the King Parish. Those who knew Jerry will remember his infectious smile, quick joke, warm spirit, and unwavering calm and kindness. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Evangeline (Miller) Langenderfer; his sons, John (Renee) Langenderfer and Robert (Teresa) Langenderfer; and his beloved grandchildren, Roman, Mason, Ella, Jack, and Julia.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
Jerry's spirit lives on through the many lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
