Jerome “Jerry” B. Pollauf, 60, of Williston, OH passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Luther Home of Mercy, Williston, OH. Jerry was born on April 22, 1961 in Toledo, OH to Bernard G. and Lois M. (Crandall) Pollauf. Jerry moved to Luther Home of Mercy in 1991 after the death of his father. He was employed at Riverview Industries for over 25 years. Despite his physical and mental handicaps, Jerry had a great sense of humor and a zest for life that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was a surprisingly good swimmer, had a mean badminton serve, and enjoyed counting things, especially things he could eat like M& M’s, doing dot-to-dot books, and playing games. One of his favorite activities was going out to eat, anytime, at any restaurant. . He was also known as a champion finger snapper, finger shaker and fist pounder. Jerry rarely forgot a name or face and greeted everyone with a big smile and a firm handshake, he will be greatly missed. Jerry is survived by his siblings, Ellen (Dean) Kosanovich, Michael (Susan) Pollauf, and Christine (Terry) Powell, and 7 nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Jerry will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Luther Home of Mercy, Williston, OH for his friends there and staff members and any Riverview Industries coworkers or staff. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2021 at Little Flower Church, Toledo, OH with visitation one hour prior at the church from 9:30 – 10-30 a.m. A luncheon with continued fellowship will take place immediately after the service; burial will be in Toledo Memorial Park after the luncheon. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in memory of Jerry are asked to consider the Luther Home of Mercy, Williston.
