Jerilyne Newmister

Jerilyne “Jerie” Newmister, 80, of Oregon, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born in Wauseon, OH to Rhubert C. and Eudora L. (Trondle) Slates on November 3, 1941. Jerie graduated from Waite High School and worked for over 30 years at St. Charles Hospital before retiring. She enjoyed playing cards with her cousins and was known as a kind, loving, caring woman. Jerie had an inseparable group of friends she met for lunch religiously – they were known as the Button and Bows, until most recently when they affectionately renamed themselves the Bad Ass Bitches. She was a cat loving, cookie making, fun having, incredible woman who will be missed dearly by her family.

Jerie is survived by her sister, Sandy Anderson; children, Ron (Charlene) Newmister, Samantha Webb, Jennifer Newmister; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; beloved feline companions, Bella and Miss Kitty; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

To follow Jerie’s wishes, no public services will be held.  Arrangements were handled by the Walker Funeral Home, Oregon.  Those wishing to make a memorial donation in her name are asked to consider the Toledo Humane Society.
