Jeremiah Joseph Hensley, 38, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2023. He was born on July 29, 1984, in Monroe, Michigan to his parents Carolyn (Hensley) Asam and Jeffery Hall. He grew up in Monroe alongside his sister and later graduated from Orchard High School before learning trades and entering the work force. He was an extremely hard worker for his entire life and was truly a jack of all trades. He was the happiest at his most recent job at Tri-State Flooring and formed many good friendships.
Jeremiah met and married his then-wife, Cara, in 2006 where the two had a son and a daughter together. His children meant the absolute world to him, and he gave everything he could to them. Not only did he love his own children dearly, but Jeremiah had the biggest heart for all kids, especially his nieces, nephew, and any others who made their way around. He notoriously made himself available for every fun event that he got to do with them and was incredibly easy to locate at family gatherings—since he was always at the kids’ table.
Jeremiah, lovingly known as Jeremy, Miah, & Uncle J, was the most likeable individual who had the ability to make any and everyone feel like a friend. He had the most charming, loud personality that took over the room and was always the life of the party. He had beautiful blue eyes, a huge smile, and was a big softy who was a teddy bear at heart and will always be remembered for his tight hugs where he squeezed you way too hard. He was simultaneously the most devoted father, best big brother, patient and loving son, the best dad to his children, the coolest uncle, and the biggest pain in the rear that his family could’ve asked for. Everybody loved Jeremiah and his genuine spirit. He will be so incredibly missed by all his family and friends and will be cherished in their memories forever.
Jeremiah is survived by his children, Keegan and Delainee Hensley; mother, Carolyn Asam; siblings, Jessica (Joseph) Smithers, Jeff (Danyell) Hall, Kiwi Raymer; nieces and nephew, Karlee, Kayleigh, and Kinzlei Smithers, Bailey and Ayden Hall; grandmother, Donna Hensley; mother of his children, Cara Briggs; and an abundance of many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his two aunts, Brenda DiCarlo and Connie Gillenkirk.
All are welcome to visit with the family at a memorial gathering with the date and time to be determined, and will be shared by family via facebook in the coming days. Condolences can be sent to the family directly at walkerfuneralhomes.com
