Jennifer Habrych

Jennifer Jo Habrych passed away on May 26, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio, after a 22-month battle with colon cancer. Born on December 11, 1971 in Toledo, Ohio, Jen was a proud alumna of Saint Mary’s College and a lifelong fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. A college student at the time, Jen was in the stands when many of the game scenes for the movie Rudy were filmed.

For over a decade, Jen was a community relations manager for Barnes and Noble. In that role, she organized book fairs and book signings, and found her love of event planning. Later, she worked as freelance writer and social media manager for a variety of nonprofit organizations.

Most recently, Jen was a business analyst for Fifth Third Bank. She was tremendously grateful for the collegiality, support, and friendship of the team with which she worked.

Jen was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her jerk-store husband Donald Caster and faithful canine companion Finnigan; her aunts Judy Adcock and Marsha (Ken) Rossler; beloved cousins Nicole (Rob) Upham, Ken Jr. (Jessica) Rossler, Mary Beth Rossler, Sara Upham, Brendan Upham; godson Josh Adcock; and mother-in-law Lynda Caster.

Visitation will be held on June 7, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Staley-Strawser Funeral Home, 7140 Plainfield Road, Deer Park, Ohio 45236.

A funeral service celebrating Jen’s life will be held on June 8 at 10:00 AM at Knox Church, 3400 Michigan Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45208, with a reception immediately following.

A gathering of remembrance will also be hosted on June 9, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH 43537.

Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, or to Knox Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, earmarked for its partnership with Found House/IHN.
