Jennifer Lynne Cady

December 17, 1975 — February 7, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jennifer Lynne Cady (Jenn, Jenny), born on December 17, 1975, in Toledo, OH. Jennifer passed away on February 7, 2025. Her husband, Jefferson, and her daughters, Jorgia and Jaclynne, were at her bedside, holding her hands. Jennifer resided in Tolar, Texas, where she was known and cherished for her compassionate spirit, her generous heart, and the love she poured into everything she did. Jennifer was devoted to her family and friends. She believed family includes people you’re related to and people you choose.

Jennifer earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees while working full-time and raising her family. She served as a Health Information Manager in the healthcare industry, a role she took on with unmatched dedication and professionalism. Her education and career accomplishments were a testament to her commitment to improving the lives of others. Her exceptional knowledge and skills were only outshone by her unwavering compassion and generosity. No matter the challenge, she tackled it with grace and resilience, inspiring those around her to strive for the same.

Jennifer is survived by her husband, Jefferson Reed, her daughters, Jorgia and Jaclynne Reed, her parents, Timothy and Janis Cady, her sisters, Kelly Cady, Beth Nann (Kyle Nann), and Amanda Cady. She is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, a host of long-time friends, and her four-legged companions, Jasper, Josie, and Juniper. She was a beacon of love in their lives, a caring wife, mother, daughter, and sister whose absence will be deeply felt.

Jennifer loved watching Jorgia and Jaclynne play softball, cheer, and play in the school band. She was immensely proud of them – not only for their talent and ability, but also for the truly wonderful human beings they are. No mother has ever been prouder or loved her kids and husband more. Jenny was a voracious reader, enjoyed going to concerts and sporting events with Jeff and the girls, and was a firm believer that Die Hard was a Christmas movie. Psych was her favorite show, and we will remember her whenever we see a pineapple. She had a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and a sharp mind.

Jennifer was taken from us way too soon. The world was a better place with her in it. We are thankful for the time we had with her, and while we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she led, the joy and laughter she created all around her, and the memories we hold in our hearts.

There will be a visitation held on March 8, 2025, from 12 pm to 4 pm in Toledo, Ohio, at the Walker Funeral Home (5155 W. Sylvania Ave.), with a Celebration of Life beginning at 4 pm. Continued food and sharing of memories will be held at the Back 40 (5215 Monroe St.) at 5:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
