Jenise L. Schultz

Jenise L. Schultz, 72, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on September 10, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio to her loving parents Charles K. and Marvel B. (Bringe) Johnson.

Jenise attended and graduated from Genoa High School in 1969. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s in Librarian Science from Bowling Green State University in 1973 and then earned her master’s degree in education from Xavier University in 1974. After completing her education, she began her career at Claremont County High School. Family brought her back to northwest Ohio. She took a job with Elmwood Schools before finding her home at Oak Harbor Middle School. It was there she spent her career teaching 8th graders English and Reading. Jenise was always a teacher. Always teaching us love, patience and kindness. She taught us that life is all about the relationships you make and cultivate.

On June 22, 1979, she married Frederick Schultz at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Williston, OH. Together, they faced life’s greatest blessings and life’s greatest tragedies.

Jenise treasured every moment she was able to spend with her sweet grandson, AJ. She was also an active member of the Coterie Club in Genoa, for many years, but her favorite pastime was just sharing a meal or a drink with a good friend. Jenise spent her life giving love. She was a beautiful soul who will be missed always.

Jenise is preceded in death by her parents Charles K. and Marvel B. (Bringe) Johnson along with her beloved son John F. Schultz. She is survived by her former husband, Fred Schultz, her best friend and daughter Carly (Schultz) Crabb, her favoritist son-in-law Kody Crabb, and her sweet grandson, AJ Crabb as well as her brothers Dana (Sandi) Johnson and Jeff Johnson along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation for Jenise will be held from 2:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM, in St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, followed by interment in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
