Jeffrey Thomas Anthony Welcheck

November 19, 1958 – September 7, 2025

Jeffrey Thomas Anthony Welcheck, 66, passed away on September 7, 2025, at Blue Creek Health Care Skilled Nursing, following a four-year struggle after a stroke. Jeff was a die-hard Toledoan, a Marine (stationed in Beirut, Lebanon), and a dedicated Jeep employee for thirty years.

He was the son of the late Edward J. and Margaret Ann (Hauck) Welcheck, and the brother of Margaret (Charles) Martin, Edward C., Barbara (deceased), Veronica, James (deceased), and Michael.

Jeff graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes Grade School, where he participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, and later from Rogers High School. He enjoyed golfing, playing pool, and was an avid bowler. Jeff valued spending time with friends, and he was always willing to serve as their personal “Uber driver” to the airport.

Although Jeff was not a regular churchgoer, he took great interest in listening to Chad Gilligan’s sermons, which made a meaningful impact on his understanding of John 3:16. He spoke of his belief in Jesus and his hope for salvation.

The Welcheck family extends their heartfelt thanks to his buddy and classmate, Steve Meuller, whose steadfast support and advocacy carried Jeff through many difficult times in recent years.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Thursday, September 11, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
