Jeffrey V Mcfellin, Jr.

MCFELLIN Jeffrey Vischer Jeffrey V. McFellin, Jr., of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on December 3, 2010. He was 36 years old. Born to Yvonne and Jeff McFellin on March 1, 1974, Jeffrey attended Ottawa Hills Elementary and High School. He graduated in 1993. Jeffrey had a passion for basketball which was evidenced through his time not only as a student player, but also as a head varsity basketball manager which began in the third grade. In high school, he played basketball all four years and was Tri-Captain his senior year. A Toledo Rocket from 1993 to 1997, Jeffrey was promoted to head student manager of Mens Basketball when he was a sophomore. After leaving the University of Toledo, Jeffrey continued his love affair with basketball by refereeing high school varsity games in Northwest Ohio for the last thirteen years. Although a diehard Rocket, he was also an avid supporter of Duke Basketball. Jeffrey was beloved by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He never met an enemy. A smile always on his face, he was referred by family members and friends as the unofficial mayor of Ottawa Hills. Jeffrey had a passion for the Rockets, politics, hoops, golf, being a ref and the Ottawa Hills Green Bears. He was a director of sales and marketing for several years at local and Cleveland hotels. He will be greatly missed by his entire family: parents Yvonne and Jeff McFellin; grandmother Bonnie Geer; brothers Matt Bailey wife Helena Seymour and John McFellin; his niece Lauren Riggi and nephew Finn Bailey; his uncle Paul and Robyn Gladieux; his uncle Jack and Becky McFellin; and his cat Lido. Jeffrey was preceded in death by grandparents Rosemary and Dale Gladieux and his beloved dog O.T. Visitation will be held on Monday and Tuesday, December 6th and 7th, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. The family requests that donations be made in Jeffreys memory to the Ottawa Hills Athletic Association and/or the University of Toledo Athletics Department
