Jeffrie P. Shirey, 37, lost his battle with addiction, but won the war, when he was called home to the Lord on February 19, 2014. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 24, 1976 to Don & Carolyn Shirey. He enjoyed fishing, bird-watching, working in his water garden, and riding motorcycles, dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, and snowmobiles. Jeff was generous to a fault, enjoyed helping people, and spending time with his kids. Until recently, he was a Journeyman Plumber/Pipefitter with the Local 50. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jami; children, Jeremy, Jessica, Jenna, and Jeffrie Jr. “JJ”; sister Christa (Scott) Lammers, nieces Lauren & Kaitlyn; grandmother Margaret Patton; sister-in-law Kari Gilpin, nephew CJ and niece Hailey; & stepmother Carolyn, along with numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his best four-legged friend, Jake. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry E. Patton; grandparents Robert & Roberta Shirey; & Special Aunt Geraldine Fitch. Family and friends may visit Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 2-8 PM at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Hwy Southwest Chapel, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Interment will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jeff’s memory may be made to D.A.R.E. or the Harry E. Patton Memorial Scholarship Fund.
