Jeannette Herl

Jeannette Herl, 89, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Saturday, July 30, 2016, at the Toledo Hospital, Toledo, Ohio. She was born on March 17, 1927 in Mishawaka, Indiana. She graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1945. On May 7, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, she married William Bill Herl, and he survives. Jeannette worked as a homemaker and was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, and the Band Mothers Club. In addition to her loving husband, Bill, of 64 years, Jeannette is survived by her daughters, Susan L. Herl and Jenny L. (Jim) Smith, 12 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Peter (Fannie) Roberts, mother, Eugenia Owen-Blood, daughters, Cynthia J. (Cromer) Zwierlein and Kathleen (Cromer) Skinner, and six siblings. Graveside services for Jeannette will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2016, at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions for Jeannette can be given to the MS Society, 401 Tomahawk Dr., Maumee, OH 43537; Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave. 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851; or the American Heart Assoc., 1701 Woodlands Dr. Suite 200, Maumee, OH 43537. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor, has assisted the family with arrangements.
