Jeanne Louise Letterhos, 92, of Catawba Island, passed away at her home Saturday, July 15, 2017. Jeanne was born in Tiffin on June 27, 1925 to Florence (Sonnhalter) and Paul Fox. On February 18, 1950, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, she married Charles “Chip” Letterhos and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1985. Jeanne was a homemaker and spent most of her life volunteering in the community. She participated in the Friendly Visitor program, and visiting and singing at hospitals and nursing homes with the Accordion Lady Group. Jeanne was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society, and the Catawba Island Vol. Fire Dept. Auxiliary. Jeanne enjoyed traveling with friends and relatives, including trips to Peru, Israel, Germany, Italy and Nova Scotia. She also traveled extensively in the US including Alaska and Hawaii. Jeanne will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and many friends. Jeanne is survived by her daughters: Barbara (Charles) Trinter, Julie Letterhos, Nancy (Karl) Oreskovich, Lori Letterhos and son: Thomas (Toni) Letterhos, grandchildren: Anna (Masami) Hirata, Elizabeth Oreskovich, Melanie Oreskovich, Tara Letterhos, Joseph (Margo) Trinter, Rebecca (Mark) Balduff and David Trinter, great granddaughter: Leona Marin Hirata and sister-in-law: Mary Fox. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Claire Rita Reamer and brothers: William, Jack and Richard Fox. Friends may call 6-9pm Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton. Prayers will be recited at 1pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30pm, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St, Port Clinton, celebrated by Fr. John Missler. Interment will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Jeanne should be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Stein Hospice.
