Jeanne Leatherman

June 24, 1921 — September 4, 2013

JEANNE LEATHERMAN Jeanne Leatherman of Millbury, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Riverview Nursing Home in Oak Harbor. She was born June 24, 1921 to Carl and Margaret (Edinger) Stoll. Jeanne attended Waite High School and a graduate of Stautzenberger Business College. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for US Draft Board, Brown Motor Sales, and The Sun Oil Company retiring from Sun in the mid eighties. Jeanne enjoyed travel including trips around Northern Michigan with her sister Marge and brother in law Henry and she especially liked Ireland. She taught Sunday school and was active at Clark St. United Methodist. She most loved spending time with her grandchildren, including an unforgettable family vacation at Disney World. Jeanne loved the Christmas Season. She welcomed and cherished her many friends and family who would come every year to enjoy her snowman collection and her delicious Christmas Cookies. She is survived by her son James (Kelly) and grandchildren Allison and James Jr. niece; Ann (Dave) Simmons and nephews; Jeff (Carolyn) Huenefeld, and Curt (Debbie) Huenefeld, cousins; Ron Stoll, Linda Granata, Carol Stoll, Karen Dickson, Marilyn Little, in-laws; Blanche Sprouse, Mary and Paul Ward, Howard and Erma Leatherman, and Jane and Chuck Leatherman, special friends; Pat Griffin, Margaret Finnegan, and Joyce Hauter. She was preceded in death by her husband James, parents, and sister Marge Hower. The family would like to thank: Sue Taylor and Chuck and Jane Leatherman for their love and support, and Pastor Randy Cook from Clark Street United Methodist, for providing spiritual support to Jeanne. Also, a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Riverview Health Care Campus, who were kind and loving to Jeanne, we cannot thank you enough. Thank you to Ben, Rachel, Jackie, Jessie, Dr Sean Callahan, and Dr Duane Sander for her medical care, and to Linda Carr and others who helped us with Jeanne’s care these past years. Friends will be received on Sunday, September, 8, 2014, from 3-8pm in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 701 N. Main St. Walbridge (419-666-3121) where visitation will continue on Monday, September 9, 2014, from 10:00am until the time of services at 12:00pm. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Soft spoken and gentle as a lamb, Jeanne was always cheerful. She was full of love and made us all better people. We will miss you and we will love you always.
