Jeane L. Barnum

Jeane L. Barnum, 91, passed away in her home Thursday, July 26, 2012. She was born October 26, 1920 in Alpena, Michigan to Elmer and Lillian (Martin) Lundquist. Jeane married Leon E. “Tony” Barnum on June 26, 1943. Jeane attended Monmouth College in Illinois and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority where she continued active alumni involvement. From skydiving at age 65 to flying with her husband across the North Atlantic in a seaplane to France and Turkey to make a movie, Jeane simply thought these things kept life interesting. She was devoted to her family and husband. Her particular interests included gardening; snow skiing, sewing, canoeing, biking, camping, curling, contract bridge, and especially homemaking. She was a fastidious housekeeper, avid party planner and attendee. Jeane was always meticulous in her personal taste and style. Jeane is survived by her husband of 69 years, Tony; children, Katherine B. (George) Jones, Eric E.(Sally) Barnum and Elizabeth J. Barnum; grandchildren, Sara, Jordan, Andrew (Meghann) and Caroline (Robert) and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Dick and Bob Lundquist. Services will be held at the family home on August 24th 2012 at 2:30 PM.
