Jean E. Zajac, 84 of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Sunday, March 22, 2009 at H.B. Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. Jean was born on December 24, 1924 in Jersey City, NJ to Walter and Lillian Kaliszak Slawinski. On February 5, 1949, in St. Anns Polish Roman Catholic Church, she married Walter Zajac. Jean had worked as Director of Food Services for the Allendale and Wyckoff School Districts, retiring in 1990. Jean moved with her son and his family to Port Clinton in 1995. Jean was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. Jeans favorite pastime above all was bingo. Survivors include: son: William J. Pat Zajac of Port Clinton, OH; daughters: Joan Zajac Gil of Hollywood, CA, Dorothy Zajac of Wisconsin; grandchildren: Bonnie Z. Greer, Robert J. Zajac, Wendy M. Harr, Nicole Gil and Jessica Gil. Jean was preceded in death by her: parents; husband; brothers: Walter and Charles Slawinski. Funeral services will be conducted by Father John Missler at 7 pm, Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton, following a gathering of family and friends from 5-7 pm. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery, New Jersey at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Jean may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
