Jean R. Rhodes Waite

Jean Rae (Rhodes) Waite, age 83, of Holland, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at University of Toledo Medical Center. Jean was born in Black Ash, Pennsylvania on July 8, 1935 to the late James and Loddie (Smeal) Rhodes. Loving, caring, and dependable were the characteristics Jean embodied during her life. Jean married the love of her life, Richard C. Waite, in 1953. Jean enjoyed crafting, often selling her items at various craft fairs. She opened her home for hosting holiday dinners and shared her cooking skills. She could take a few simple ingredients and make a meal fit for a King. Jean would open her heart, arms, and home to anyone in need. Jean helped to raise two Grandsons. She had a deep love for animals - both cats and dogs. Jean loved a great bargain and enjoyed attending rummage sales. Jean is survived by her loving Husband of 65 years, Richard Waite; Sons, Richard C. (Susan) Waite, Jr., Robert C. (Mary) Waite, Russell C. Waite, and Rodney C. (Chris) Waite; Grandchildren, Robert C. (Anna) Waite, Jr., Russell C. (Camille) Waite, Jr., Rodney C. (Kathleen) Waite, II, Daniel (Laura) Waite, and Megan Waite; Great-Grandchildren, Brett, Mary, Chelsea, Emmy, Alex, Henry, Natalie, Carter, Brooklyn, and Cason. Jean was preceded in death by her Son, Ronald C. Waite. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Planned Pet Hood of Lucas County, 6638 Centers Drive, Holland, Ohio 43528.
