Jean Marie Spratt

Jean Marie Spratt, age 88, of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The daughter of Arthur and Gertrude Dayan Gertz, she was born on January 16, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio. Jean graduated from Woodward High School in 1941. She was employed by Toledo Public Schools for over 20 years, working in various high school cafeterias. Jean loved to crochet, she created over 600 afghans and touched many lives by giving them away. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jack Spratt, Sr; daughter, Jean Ron Kornowa; son, Jack Joanne Spratt, Jr.; grandchildren, Kelly Mark Young, Kevin Renee Kornowa, Jason Melissa Spratt and Jamie Steve Oliver; great-grandchildren, Layne, Hasley and Wylen Young, Lindsey and Claire Kornowa and Mackenzie Spratt. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings. Friends and family may visit on Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd. where services will be held on Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Lars Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
