Jean M. Kappus Schumacker

Jean M. Schumacker, age 88, of Coldwater, Michigan and formerly of Toledo, Ohio died Monday, December 18, 2017. She was born in Toledo on May 10, 1929 to Walter and Gertrude Kappus. She was a graduate of Mary Manse College with a degree in Education and taught briefly at St. Catherine’s Elementary School. Jean was married to Roy Schumacker and together they raised three children. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She is survived by her son, Larry (Debra) Schumacker; daughter-in-law, Pat Schumacker; grandchildren, Mike (Mindy) Schumacker, Matt (Crystal) Schumacker, Colleen (Adam) Chesler, Julieanne and Lauren Schumacker as well as 6 great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gertrude; husband, Roy; daughter, Linda Schumacker and her son, Lee Schumacker. Friends will be received on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 4-8 PM at Neville- Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s name to St. Charles Catholic Church, 150 Taylor Street, Coldwater, MI 49036.
