Jean Mallett

Jean Eriksen Mallett, age 85, passed away peacefully at Parkcliffe Alzhemiers Community, surrounded by her family on Monday, September 10, 2012. Jean was born on July 29, 1927, to Robert and Charlotte Eriksen in Toledo, Ohio. She grew up in West Toledo and graduated from Whitmer High School in 1945. She married her beloved husband, Russell, in 1949. Jean worked as a bookkeeper at the family owned business, Eriksens Inc., for over 25 years. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her most prized possessions, her grandchildren. She could be found at her grandchildrens various events or at home sewing, reading, cooking, or crafting. A special love of Jeans was raising monarch butterflies. Preceding her in death were her parents, Charlotte and Robert Eriksen, and her husband, Russell. She is survived by her children, Susan Denny Wagner, Linda Bill Mynihan, Todd Sandy Mallett; grandchildren Janet Ryan Moore, Darren & John Wagner, Scott Vaculik, Laurie Brian Smith, Garrett & Jordan Mallett, Stephen Cassie, Michael & Matthew Mynihan; and great-grandchildren, Callie, Carter, and Finlay. She is also survived by her siblings, Phyllis Benton, Robert & Grant Eriksen. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, west of Corey Road, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Parkcliffe Alzheimers Community of Toledo. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Parkcliffe Alzheimers Community or Epworth United Methodist Church. If nothing ever changed, thered be no butterflies.
