Jean Marie Lighthill

Jean Lighthill, 59, was surrounded by family when she was called home on March 28, 2008, after a short battle with cancer. She was born to Glendora Solt and George Lighthill in Bluffton, OH on June 26, 1948. She moved to Toledo, OH in April of 1949 and went on to graduate from Start High School in 1966. After high school, Jean stayed busy by raising 5 beautiful children. Her most recent years have been spent traveling and working in Bradenton, Florida. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Chelsea Grosswiler. Jean is survived by her older sister, Barbara Lighthill of Toledo, OH; sons, Roy Dana Grosswiler of Grand Rapids, OH and Eric Melody Grosswiler of Toledo, OH; daughters, Cynthia Craig DiCarlo of Rudolph, OH, Adrienne Grosswiler of Toledo, OH and Katherine Warren Jensen of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Brierton, Emily and Mikayla Grosswiler, Aaron and Gabrielle Grosswiler and Brendan, Amber and Stephen DiCarlo. The family wishes to thank everyone at Hospice, with special thanks to all her nurses who were angels in disguise. Also the family and friends who called and sent cards. Jean greatly appreciated them all. Family and friends may visit Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, OH where Jean will be laid to rest among her parents and her many Solt family relatives.
