Jean K. Harvey

Jean K. Harvey, 89, of Oak Harbor, Ohio passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 28, 2016 in the Maplecrest Assisted Living, Bucyrus, Ohio. She was born in Oak Harbor on February 16, 1927 to Henry P. and Edna E. (Goodeman) Held. Jean married Kenneth Kenny L. Harvey at St. St. Pauls Lutheran Church, in Oak Harbor, on October 18, 1947, and he survives. Jean had worked as a payroll clerk for the Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton, Ohio for 5 years and in the office of the former Ottawa County Exponent. She was also a valued staff member of the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home in Oak Harbor since 1991. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #8732 in Oak Harbor. Jean was a Life Member of the Riverview Nursing Home Ladies Auxiliary serving as the Membership Chairman for 10 years and as its Secretary. She was also an active member of the former Creative Homemakers Club, the Country Culture Club, and The Late Eight Card Club, all of Oak Harbor. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Kenny, children, David L. of Toledo, Scott H. (Yvonne) of Bucyrus, Thomas A. (Tracy) Oak Harbor and Janet K. Harvey also of Oak Harbor, four grandchildren, Nicholas (Katie) Harvey, Nathan (Laura) Harvey, Caitlyn Harvey, Garrett Harvey and great granddaughter Kaylin Detwiler. Her parents, brother Donald Held and sister, Marjorie Anderson preceded her in death. A service for Jean will be conducted at 11 am, Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Jon Bell officiating. Interment will follow in the Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Visitation will be in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, from 5-8 pm on Monday, August 1, 2016.
