Jack 'Jay' Loar Jr., age 48, of Curtice, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012, surrounded by family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was employed by Gary Schumaker, L.L.C. as a mechanic. Jay enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and NASCAR racing. Jay also served in the Navy from 1982 to 1986 on the USS Kittyhawk. Jay is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dawn (Studneski) Loar; daughter, Brittany (Jeremy Woernley) Loar; parents, Jack (Linda) Loar, Sr. and Marty Walters; sister, Pam Castillo; father and mother-in-law, John and Diane Studneski; brother-in law, Don Studneski; special cousin, Steve Borkowski; niece, Kara Castillo, and many aunts, uncles, and friends. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Bill Walters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, OH 43616, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A service will follow at 7:30 p.m. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the Loar family.
