Jason Paul West

Jason Paul West, 48, of Genoa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in Genoa, Ohio. He was born on January 14, 1974 to the late Jeffrey West and Margaret Samayoa.

Jason graduated from Woodmore High School in 1993 and after graduation, he joined Local Union 55 Iron Workers. Ending his career at Foundation Steel as a General Foreman, Jason specialized in bridge work. He was most proud of his work truck. Jason had a love for motorcycles. His pride and joy was his customized 2017 Roadglide Special. He was the “Road Captain”. Jason took great pride in leading, whether it was being the leader of the pack or leader on the job site.

Jason loved football; his New York Giants and University of Michigan Wolverines. He had found out about fantasy football which gave him an excuse to watch all the other football games. He was an avid online gamester and played a lot with his cousin, Primo.

Jason had a love for music; he would listen to anything, from hard rock to, even though he wouldn’t admit it, but some was even country. He loved to grill & socialize and have a good time which started his annual “Grill Off” competition.

Jason’s most special love was his wife of 14 years, Lynn (Klavinger) and their 8 month old puppies, Tucker and Poco “Da Boys”. They loved being their puppy parents.  Other survivors include his Mom, Margaret Kassnel, step-father, Terry (Tonia) Kassnel, sister, Jennifer (Clint) West, brother, Justin (Aditi) Kassnel, great niece, Amaya Davis, great nephew, Devin Davis.  Jason was preceded in death by his Father, Jeffrey West and niece, Haley Miller.

Jason was loved by many friends and family members that spanned across the United States.

Visitation for Jason will be held from 2:00-8:00 PM, Monday, February 14, 2022, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa.  The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in the funeral home.  The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the animal shelter of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
