Janis Higbie

Janis Marie Higbie peacefully passed away at home on Sunday December 5th. Janis was born on February 11, 1932, in Toledo Ohio to Nelson & Zena Franklin. She was an only child & fell in love with the love of her life, Merritt, at Centennial Terrace & they have been married for over 70 years. She enjoyed working at Jacobsons in the bedding department for over 20 years. She loved her family, friends, shopping & Hershey bars. They lived a wonderful life together in Toledo & eventually on Otsego Lake. Memories of skiing, summers on the lake with family & friends will be cherished forever. Merritt & Janis later relocated to Perrysburg, Ohio. Janis is survived by her teenage sweetheart & husband of 70 years Merritt; daughters Amy Tobias, Holly Higbie Orban (Lou); granddaughters Carrie Kundinger (Chad), Lindsey Camargo (Fernando); great-grandchildren Addisyn, Jaxson, Luca; Liam, Coen & Vivian; and her beloved fur friends Kenya, Bailey, Maizey, Cooper, Reese; along with many dear friends. She will be missed & her memories will be held in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home (5155 W. Sylvania Ave) on Friday, December 10, from 10am-12pm with funeral services following at 12pm. Burial will be at Toledo Memorial Park afterwards.
