Janice Elizabeth Schroyer

Janice Elizabeth Schroyer, age 82, of Ottawa Lake, MI, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 13, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 19, 1939, in Toledo to the late Edmund and Mary “G.J.” Jackson and graduated from DeVilbiss High School.

Janice was a homemaker and helped her husband in countless ways operating the family’s building company. She loved life, creating beautiful experiences for her family, being in the sun working on her tan, and playing tennis in her younger years. Camping in the motorhome and travelling all over the world was a big part of her life. Janice especially enjoyed winters in Key Largo, Florida, where she and Dale created many memories over the years. Summers at the family cottage at Devil’s Lake was also a cherished place. Most recently, she enjoyed regular lunch dates to share a meal with family and friends. She and Dale also spent countless hours together taking in the sights of Amish country. Janice will also be remembered for her straightforward, honest approach and as a fiercely loyal mother. Her family came first in her life, and she often extended herself to care for other children, becoming a “Mom” to many.

Surviving Janice is her loving husband of more than 65 years, Dale M. Schroyer; children, Rodney “Rody” Schroyer, Todd (Kris) Schroyer, and Shawn (Steve) Rafferty; thirteen grandchildren, Kayla, Randi, Tristin, Nick, Nathan, RJ, Kiley, Courtney, Katie, Kari, Stevi, Tedmund, and Caden, who knew her as “Nonnie”; great granddaughter Everly Elizabeth; siblings, Sandra Belinske and Ron Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Lynne Holley.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). A memorial service to celebrate Janice’s extraordinary life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022, in the funeral home.
