Janice Lorraine Phipps, 67, of Maumee passed away on Thursday March 22, 2012 at the Blakely Care Center, Bowling Green. Jan was born September 16, 1944 in Stevens Point, WI to Willard and Lorna Roe Wogsland. Jan loved crafts and woodworking. Being around her grandchildren always brought her the greatest amount of joy. She also was an avid camper and enjoyed fishing. Jan received her pilots license on her 16th birthday, making her the youngest female pilot in the US in 1960. She is survived by her husband; Thomas; daughters; Wendy Dan Echelberry, Wanda Mason. mother; Lorna Wogsland, grandchildren; Breanna Dustin Ptaszynski, Danielle Echelberry, Alexandra Echelberry, Sydney Mason, Taylor Mason, sister; Cari Authement and a brother, Ward Wogsland. Jan was preceded in death by her father. Family and Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, on Sunday March 25, 2012 from 3pm - 6pm. Funeral services will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church 2250 South Holland-Sylvania Rd., Maumee on Monday at 11am. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.
