Janice H. Minier, 96, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. She was born on August 18, 1926 in LaCarne, OH to Harry and Myrtle (Floro) Carpenter. On April 25, 1943 she married Carlton B. Minier, and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2003. Janice worked as a legal assistant for Frank W. Cubbon & Associates in Toledo, OH for 14 years and also for Kline & Corogin in Port Clinton, OH. She served as the executive director for the local chapter of The American Cancer Society for 23 years. Janice was a longtime member of the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, where she served as the church secretary for 10 years, was a Lay Leader, the membership secretary and taught Sunday school. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Literary & Social Club. Janice enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, knitting, cooking, camping, and her many trips to Loudonville, OH.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Jack) Weld and Michele Apple, son, Roger (Susan) Minier, grandchildren, Joel (Stephanie) Sparks, Jeffrey (Erica) Sparks, Christopher Sparks, and Mary Catherine Apple, 7 great granddaughters, and her brother, Roger Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant sister, Donna Carpenter, and son-in-law, Walter Apple.
Visitation for Janice will be Monday, May 22, 2023 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. Memorial services will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, 360 E. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor, OH with burial to follow in LaCarpe Cemetery, LaCarne, OH. The family would like to invite the funeral guests to join them after the services and burial for a luncheon back at the church. Memorial contributions in memory of Janice may be given to Camp Sabroske or the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church.
