JANICE L. HARRIS MARCZAK Janice L. Harris Marczak, a Living Skills teacher and Reading specialist who recently retired in 2011 from Perrysburg Junior High School with 30 years of service, died after a 15 month battle with the skin cancer Melanoma on Sunday, October 14, 2012. Janice earned her undergraduate degree in Home Economics Education at the University of Wisconsin – Stout, and also a Masters in Reading, from Bowling Green State University. Janice positively impacted many youth throughout her teaching career in the classroom, coaching Cross Country, and mentoring many students through such programs as the High Impact Peer Program (HIPP), by teaching important life skills. She was also an avid reader, and spent a great deal of time with her beloved book club, and shared her passion for reading with all. She was also active outdoors, spending a great deal of time running, walking, and biking with her husband Ted. A faithful Catholic and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she is survived by her husband Ted Marczak, step-son Bradley Marczak, her parents Delbert and Elaine Johnson, brother Randy Johnson, sister Joy O’Connell, two sons Chad Harris and Austin Harris, and the lights of her life, two grandchildren, Noah and Colin Harris. Janice was the most selfless, caring, and considerate person in our lives. We will never forget the great joy she brought to our family and the valuable lessons on life and love. South Boundary Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) on Thursday, October 18 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM and Friday, October 19 from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will begin Saturday, October 20 at 10:00 AM in Corpus Christi Church, 2955 Dorr St. Toledo, Ohio 43607. Burial will be private.
