Janet Marie Sellers

Sellers, Janet Marie Janet Marie Sellers, age 75, passed away Friday morning, November 20, 2009, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Janet was born in Blanchester, OH on January 22, 1934 to Esta and Clara Penniston. She resided at Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphans Home in Xenia, OH from 1942 to 1952. On June 13, 1954, Janet married Daniel George Sellers, the love of her life. Janet enjoyed her life as a homemaker, devoted mother and spouse and had a successful career as a secretary with many diverse organizations, finishing her career with Unison Behavioral Health Group. She was an active member of Christ Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, Clerk of Session, Wedding Coordinator, Stephens Minister and was a member of many other committees. Two passions of hers were the P.E.O. Sisterhood and playing bridge with numerous groups. She was also a hard-nosed scorekeeper/statistician for her husband, Dans softball teams through the years. Janet had a talent for making immediate friendships with anyone that she met. Her final 5 years were spent at Swan Creek Retirement Village where her beautiful spirit, smile and laugh touched many lives. Janet is survived by sons Duane Jane from Lafayette, IN, Dean Emma from Baltimore, MD; daughter Kristina Jeff Keeler Lexington, OH; grandchildren Kelly ShaneWeist from Lafayette, IN, Lori BenOvenden from Fishers, IN, Danielle Keeler Fayetteville, AK, Eric Keeler Lexington, OH and Mica Sellers Baltimore, MD; great grandchild Logan Weist Lafayette, IN and brother Perry Marge Penniston from Muscatine, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel, her brothers Louis Penniston and Bill Caldwell and her parents. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd.. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday at Christ Presbyterian Church, 4225 Sylvania Ave., Toledo, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church or Swan Creek Retirement Village.
