Janet Elizabeth Roberts

Janet E. Roberts, age 84 of Sylvania passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Kingston of Sylvania. She was born May 5, 1933 in Toledo to Paul and Ada (Schupp) Schulz. She was employed at Community Finance where she met her husband, Jim and married in 1953. She was first and foremost a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She cherished her role as homemaker, cook and baker for her family. Janet volunteered 17 years at Ronald McDonald House where she was always baking cookies. She was also an active member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Downtown. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James W., she was also preceded in death by infant daughter Amy; and siblings Ellen Sheets and Paul Schulz. Surviving are her children Pam (Pete) Fioritto, Karen (Ned) Barnes and Christopher Roberts; grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, Thomas (Jackie) and Laura Fioritto, Jonathan (Jessica), James (Briana), Allison, Hope, Benjamin (Victoria), Joy, Cameron and Aubree Barnes and Joshua McConkey; great-grandchildren Joanna, Kyle, Alexander, Emilee and Elizabeth Barnes; and sister RuthAnn Bules. Friends may visit the family at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Wednesday from 2-8 PM where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM.
