Janet M. Materni

Janet M. Materni, age 72, of Toledo, died July 30, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Born May 30, 1950, in Toledo to the late John and Genevieve (Nastachowski) Demko, she graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1968. Janet earned an X-Ray tech degree and worked in that position for more than 15 years. She later tended bar at J and D’s and the former VFW Post 5536. In her free time, Janet enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for her family. Strong-willed and quick witted, you always knew where you stood with her.

Surviving are her children, Jeff (Ginger) Materni and Allison (Mike) Armstrong; her beloved grandchildren; and special friend and care giver, Jan Materni. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius R. “Jeep” Materni, on May 1, 2021.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022, in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Burial will be private.
