Janet Ann Lagouranis, 79, passed away on April 23, 2024, at the Landings of Oregon, Oregon, Ohio, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 17, 1944, to Sylvester and Gertrude “Tudie” (Johnson) Mominee and was raised in Williston, Ohio.
Janet had a great love for learning and seeking out new and different life experiences. This inquisitiveness led her to live in many places around the United States, including, New Mexico, New York City, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, New Jersey, California, just to name a few! She was always willing to try something new so while in her 40’s she learned the trade of blacksmithing and rug weaving. In her spare time she loved to knit. Many friends and family kept their feet warm in the winter, thanks to Janet. When she was looking for something to eat her two favorites were spantakopita and fudge which was always nearby. She will be missed by her grandchildren, whom she cared for and loved dearly.
Janet is survived by her children, Elena (Craig) Hughes, Tony (Brooke) Lagouranis and Elizabeth (Alex) McClearn; ex-spouse, Tony Lagouranis; and grandchildren, Jack Hughes, Emme Roseberry, Fin Roseberry, Ren McClearn and Ben McClearn.
