Janet passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, February 13, 2011 at the Manor of Perrysburg. She was born the only child of Archibald and Marjorie May Gray in South Hampton New York. Janet lived all of her childhood and the majority of her adult life in Maumee. She attended Maumee High School and graduated from Mary Manse College in 1955 with a Bachelor in Arts. Janet married Dr. Nassar Jamali in 1963. They divorced twenty years later and remained close friends. Janet worked for the city of Maumee for 22 years as a Police Dispatcher. Prior to that position, she was a Technical Illustrator for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena CA. as well an Illustrator for the Joint Military Packaging Training Center in Rossford Ohio. Janet will long be remembered for her love of the arts especially reading, painting and jewelry making. Janet had a gift of eloquently sharing the details of her travels with books and her Scottish family history for which she was very proud. Janet was a life time member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Maumee, the Fraternal Order of Police and numerous animal advocacy groups. Janet was grateful for the compassionate and friendly care she received while at the Manor of Perrysburg, especially thanking staff Becky, Donna, Deanne and Aisha. In addition Janet found peace in the loving and spiritual support provided to her by Amy, Sandi and Noelle from Odyssey Hospice. Janet leaves behind numerous cousins, special friends Dan and Deb Graham and family, and Mam Selle Le Cat her faithful companion. Janet wanted to thank her neighbors Dave and Peggy, and Dru and Dave for all the kindness and friendship shown to her over the years. At Janets request gifts and remembrances may be sent to The Toledo Humane Society in Maumee and to Pauls Peers Respite Care at 310 Elizabeth Street Maumee, Ohio 43537. A memorial service will held on Sunday March 13, 2011 at 1:00 pm at St. Pauls Episcopal Church 313 E. Wayne St. Maumee.
