Janet L. Fenn

Janet L. Fenn, 86, of Perrysburg, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Perrysburg. Janet was born February 18, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to George Merlin and Blanche (Carpenter) Sheldrick. She passionately served our country as a Major in the United States Army. After retiring from the Army, she went on to be a teacher and ended her career as an assistant to Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn, a position that she held proudly for 13 years.

Janet was a member of the Perrysburg Civil Service Commission for numerous years and enjoyed traveling all over the world. She was an avid reader, and loved sewing and knitting special pieces for friends, family, and charities. Janet also enjoyed playing the organ for special events.

Janet is survived by sisters, Mary VanDyke, June Jackson; nieces, Kristina Newman, Dawn (Don) Rumbutis, Melody (Bob) Helton; nephews, Russell VanDyke, Carl Lloyd (Tammy) Jackson, Andy (Angie) Jackson; great nephews, J. Michael (Mallory) Newman, Jeremy (Breana) VanDyke, Justin (Breana) VanDyke; and great niece, Nicole (Brandon) Landrum. She is also survived by grandnieces, Payton VanDyke, Kennedy Newman, Madeline Newman, Isla VanDyke; and grandnephews, Nash Landrum and Carter Newman.

Friends and family will be received Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 9-11 a.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery.
