Jane Marie White

JANE MARIE WHITE Jane Marie (Siegenthaler) White passed away on April 14, 2013 at Spring Meadows Extended Care Center, Holland. Jane was born to Calvin and Irene (Auxter) Siegenthaler on December 14, 1921 in Toledo. Jane attended Devilbiss H.S. and after graduating in 1939 she attended the Academy Sapho in Detroit, Michigan receiving a certificate in the Art of Dressmaking in 1940. She met that “cute Marine” John White in June of 1942 and they were married that same summer on August 22. They remained married until his death in 2006. Jane was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother; she definitely knew how to make a house a Home. With her knowledge and love of sewing she made everything from doll clothes to draperies, tailored suits, to wedding dresses. In the 60’s and 70’s she put her skills to work making custom hats at Cre’Bet studio of Millinery. Jane leaves to cherish her memory, son, Dave White; daughter, Marsha (Bob) Degens, granddaughters Lindsay (Mike) Funk and Stephanie (Steve Ryan) White. Great grandson Ryder Funk and niece Sharon Arbuz. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Florence Snyder and her husband John White. Friends and family will be received from 11 am to 1 pm, Saturday April 27, 2013, at the Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, Ohio (enter off Brandon), where a brief memorial service will take place beginning at 1 pm. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville, Ohio. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Ernest Kempher Memorial Scholarship Fund at Epiphany Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Spring Meadows as well as the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for taking such good care of Jane.
