Jamie S. Nath, 35, a resident of the Luther Home of Mercy in Williston, Ohio, and formerly of Westlake, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Jamie was the foster child of David & Tena Walker, who cared for and raised him since he was ten months old. He started life with disabilities he never outgrew but left an indelible impression on all who knew him. He was never able to speak but communicated in his own way. He was never able to walk but took in all his surroundings. A remarkable individual despite his physical limitations.
Jamie was a relatively new resident of the Luther Home of Mercy, moving into cottage eleven on August 21, 2024, but made friends quickly with his housemates and staff. He had a smile and big brown eyes that radiated a sense of contentment and joy and pulled you to him. He loved music and videos, especially Sesame Street and Raffi which he played over and over! Sometimes he could be heard laughing all the way down the hall! The spoken word calmed him as he listened intently every time someone spoke to him or read to him. Colored strobe lighting intrigued him. And as a child he was excited to have help in creating hand artwork that was enjoyed by family and friends. Jamie will be missed and his endearing innocence will live in our hearts forever.
Jamie is survived by his foster family, foster parents and guardians, David and Tena Walker, foster sister, Andrea (Jacob) Heilman, foster sister, Crystal Walker, and his birth family, birth mother, Margaret Nath, sister, Caddie (Todd) Nath-Folsom, grandfather, Dr. William Kelley, aunt, Ginger (Christopher) Yost. He was preceded in death by his birth father, Arvind Nath, half-sister, Rowan Gingerich, and grandmother, Lois Kelley.
A memorial service for Jamie will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Luther Home of Mercy Chapel, 5810 N. Main St., Williston, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Luther Home of Mercy. Arrangements are being handled by the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa, Ohio.
