James Zimmerman

James R. Zimmerman, age 83 of Manitou Beach, MI formerly of Maumee, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2021. He was born in Toledo, OH on February 3, 1937 to Elmer and Mabel Zimmerman. A graduate of Macomber High School, then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jim worked in the HVAC industry, managed rentals and later retired from J & R Contractors. Jim was a devoted and loving husband, father and papa. He was known for his wit and humor. Jim could be found at his family cottage enjoying swimming, fishing and kayaking. He married Janice Woeller and together, they raised 4 children. Left to cherish his memories are his children, Mark Zimmerman, Gary (Lisa) Zimmerman, Debbie (Jeff) Moosman and Todd Zimmerman; granddaughter, Brittany (Cory) Lang; sister, Judy (John) Hirzel. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; brothers, Gene and Jack and sister, JoAnn. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee, on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 3:00 PM until the time of services at 6:00 PM.
