James Frederick Weber passed on to the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 5, 2023. Jim was born August 9, 1946, to parents, James Frederick Weber Sr. and Reba Deon Weber in Millville, NJ. The family relocated to Bridgeton, NJ where Jim attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and Bridgeton High School. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from the University of Charleston and his MBA from the University of Toledo. Jim was hardworking and had a successful career in corporate finance with Owens Illinois. He retired from Owens Illinois as the Vice President of Investor Relations.
In his youth, he played little league baseball and, in his teens, began racing go karts. This started his lifelong love of racing. He traveled on weekends to watch dirt track races. In retirement he sponsored two dirt late model cars. Jim owned two Corvettes and a Chevy Impala. He belonged to the Glass City Corvette Club. In his spare time, Jim dabbled in photography.
Jim is survived by his children, Debby Shaw and Jimy (Kelly) Weber; grandchildren, Andrew James Shaw, Sydney Weber, and Zoe Weber; many cousins; and racing friends, Frank Heckenast and Chris Grbac. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may visit Friday, December 15, 2023, from 4-7 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. Funeral Services will begin Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 9:15 am at the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania at 10 am.
Memorial donations may be given to cancer research.
