James E. Tristan, 64, of Elmore, died Saturday afternoon, October 12, 2013, at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was born September 23, 1949, in Oregon, Ohio, to Baldamar and Jane Mireles Tristan. On September 25, 1971, in Genoa, James married Consuelo Mejia and she survives. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era, and for 35 years he worked as a custodian at Woodmore High School. James was a family man, who especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Consuelo, James is survived by his son, Edward Heather Tristan of Oak Harbor, daughter, Jennifer Tristan of Toledo, and grandchildren, Mariah, Jacob, Ryan, Adrien, Santino and Rome. He is also survived by his siblings, Esther Nico Aguliar of Houston, TX, Margaret Rodrigues of Elmore and David Tristan of Toledo. His parents and daughter, Monica Tristan, preceded him in death. Visitation will be at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, from 2-8 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2013. A graveside service will be held in Restlawn Memorial Park, Genoa Rd., Perrysburg, at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorials for James may be given to Dialysis Partners of Northwest Ohio, c/o Maumee Bay Dialysis, 3310 Dustin Rd., Oregon, OH 43616; or any MRDD program of the donors choice.
