James “Jim” Charles Toska, 83, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Ebeid Hospice. Jim was born in Toledo to John and Ruth (Currier) Toska on November 9, 1938. He married the one and only love of his life, Garrie (Rawson), and they wed on April 9, 1962, and have been inseparable since. Being an outdoorsman, Jim loved camping, fishing, boating, anything that got him near the water. He could always be found tinkering in his garage on one of his fast cars or projects; he was especially fond of his red Corvette. Due to his love of cars, of course Jim was a true NASCAR fan, Dale Earnhardt being his favorite. On Wednesday nights, Jim’s daughter, Pam, would come over with groceries and lotto tickets; Jim would always look forward to eating her homemade pizza and then scratching the tickets. Kindness, generosity, and love were constant traits of Jim, and his family will cherish his memory forever.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Garrie; daughter, Pamela (Daniel) Klotz; son, James C. (Dawn) Toska; grandchildren, Stacie (Lauren) Porter, Seth Toska, Dylan Toska, Lily Toska; great-granddaughter, Madison Eddings; Siblings, Betty Coker, Joseph (Pat) Toska, Jerry (Barb) Toska, Jerome Toska, Teresa Toska-Wilson; feline friend, Spot; honorary daughter, Christy Kollarik; many nieces, nephews, extended family members; and countless friends. He was greeted in Heaven by his grandson, Jeremy Klotz; siblings, John Toska, Jr., Sharon Toska; and beloved dog, Puggy.
Friends will be received on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH. Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
