James Robert Spychala, Sr.

James Robert Spychala Sr. of Maumee, Ohio died early Sunday morning March 27, 2011. He attended Nativity Grade School and Libbey High School. Jim worked for B & O Railroad now CSX for 43 years. Jim served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and while in Germany visited Switzerland doing some skiing and sightseeing. He also visited France and New York City, New York. Jim loved baseball and football and was looking forward to the 2011 season. Also a train enthusiast he built a board display of model trains. Jim married Patricia R. Doyle in 1954 together they had 57 years of marriage and 5 children; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; sons, Edward J., Raymond M., James R. Jr. Donna Spychala; daughters, Mary H. Koder and Patricia R. Spychala; grandchildren, Elizabeth Grant Grohowski, Amanda Mario Pacelli, Raychel M. Spychala, Erin L. Spychala, Jimmy M. Spychala and Amber N. Deluna; great-grandchildren, Isis J. and Myra E. Pacelli; sister-in-law, Juanita Doyle Skoczen; nephews, Michael, Robert Linda, Scott Spychala, David Lisa Skoczen; nieces, Mary Jo Bob Zeisloft and Sue Spychala; great nephews, Oliver and Anderson Skoczen; great niece, Helena Spychala. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Helena Losek Spychala, brother, Martin Nancy; uncles, Raymond and Edward Losek, nephew, Mark Spychala. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee from 4-8 pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 10:00 am.
