James H. Samsen

James H. Samsen, 81, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away Friday morning, June 9, 2023, at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Genoa, he was the son of A. Howard and Lillian B. I. (Rollins) Samsen. Jim married Bessie M. (Klatt) in Ferndale, Michigan on June 16, 1963, and she passed away on July 31, 2016.

Jim had retired, sometime around 2005, from the Perrysburg plant of Chrysler Corporation after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a very talented man who enjoyed doing things himself, no job was too complicated for him. He was eager to tackle construction projects, woodworking, gardening, and mechanical challenges and loved to work on his own home along with his wife. During his younger years, he enjoyed fishing in Lake Erie and traveling to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to catch salmon.

Jim is survived by his sons, Dale J. Samsen and Scott A. (Ronie) Samsen along with extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 53 years, Bessie, and his adopted sister, Beverly Sterling.
