James C. Rowe was called home to Heaven on September, 24, 2015. He was born to Rose C. (Finnegan) and Alvin G. Rowe on April 11, 1930. He was a football player in high school at Scott High School where his love for the sport began. His passion for the game was best seen on fall afternoons when he watched his beloved Buckeyes play and his family continues that passion. Jim worked at Dun & Bradstreet and ultimately took his talents to Libbey-Owens-Ford, where he met the love of his life, Betty Lou Iffland. They married on June 5, 1954 and several years later were blessed with their children, Vicki and Rick. In addition to his love of sports, Jim had a passion for music, self-taught on the organ and a great player of the accordion. He was a member of the Barbershop quartet, “The Marksman”, travelling around Ohio and Pennsylvania to perform as well as a 50+ year member of the Seaway Commanders Chorus. He directed that Chorus and the choir at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for a number of years. Dad was a man of faith and family and leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Betty, his children, Vicki (Denny) Lyle, Rick (Beth) Rowe, and his grandchildren, Jenelle (Steven), Brandon (Amber), Jared, Caitlin, Alexandra and Mallory. His brother, Alvin (Ginnie) also survives as well as several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. We love you dad and are blessed to have been in your life. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave., (west of Corey) from 4-8pm on Monday, September 28th. Funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 3934 W. Laskey Rd. at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29th where visitation will be held 1 hour before with burial at Toledo Memorial Park.
