James E. “Jim” Ratliff, Sr., 81, of Walbridge, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. Charles Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Pikeville, KY to Clayton and Myrtle (Bowling) Ratliff on November 18, 1936. He retired from Chrysler and was married to Betty Lou (Stotz) Ratliff for over 50 years. Jim loved spending time with his family and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan. Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife, Betty; children, Jim (Maria) Ratliff, Jr., Tina (Mike, Sr.) Deehr, Craig Ratliff; grandchildren, K.C. (Matt) Jorgensen, Mike (Nicole) Deehr, Jr., Chelsey (Dave) Show, Amanda (Nick) Baer, Laura Deehr, Rachel Ratliff, Adam (fiancée Sarah VanSoest) Ratliff, Abby Deehr; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Meredith, and Molly Deehr, Cole, Clayton, Brantley, and Conrad Show, Elliana and Addilyn Baer; siblings, Julia (Dick) Earls, Burma Sweeny, Glenda Gornall, Donnie Ratliff; special nephew, Randy Ratliff; and numerous other loving family members and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jean Heinemann and Bob Ratliff. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge (419-666-3121). Visitation will continue on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Road, Toledo, Ohio.
