After a long fought battle with lung cancer, JR left his earthly life to move on to his new home in Heaven on Saturday, May 7, 2016 surrounded by his adoring family. He was born in Hammonton, New Jersey on July 5, 1945 to Bill and Ida Pollock and grew up in Beaver, PA until moving to Oregon, Ohio. JR was a graduate of Clay High and attended The Ohio State University. He retired from Owens Corning in 2005 after 38 years. JR attended Maumee United Methodist Church. He enjoyed coaching his children when they were young, attending his grandchildren’s many activities, traveling to the Outer Banks and Marco Island, watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, and spending time with his many friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren whom he loved deeply. JR was preceded in death by his parents, in laws and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 52 years, Janet (Price). His children, Amy (Mike) Barrett of Waterville, OH, Sue (Tina) Pollock of Grove City, OH, James II (Jenna) Pollock of Perrysburg, OH and Andy (Katie) Pollock of Waterville, OH. Twelve fabulous grandchildren: Ben, Hayley, Sam and Olivia Barrett; Ellie and Karsyn Pollock-Ballard; Brooklyn, James III and Trevor Pollock; Mallori, Emily and Graci Pollock. Brothers: Ralph (Pat) Pollock of Fort Myers, FL, John (Karen) Pollock of Waterville, OH, Sisters: Nancy (Eric) Long and Judy Peake of Greensboro, NC. Sister in laws: Deb (Price) Frank Kennedy of Belmont, MA, Sharon (Price) Jim Rapp of Findlay, OH, along with many nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Frasier the cat. Visitation and Celebration of Life will take place at Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sacket St, Maumee. Visitation will be from 3-7 pm on Thursday, May 12, 2016. Visitation will continue on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 12 Noon until the Celebration of Life service begins at 1:00 PM. Burial will be private.
