James N. Jim Pahl

January 15, 1931 — December 25, 2018

James “Jim” N. Pahl, 87, of Marblehead, OH, passed away, Tuesday, December 25. 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on January 15, 1931 in Findlay, OH, the son of Vernon and Margaret E. (Parker) Pahl. On October 29, 1955 in Brunswick, NJ, he married Margaret Hobschaidt and she survives. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army for 22 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Jim served during the Korean War and Vietnam War. He earned several badges and medals, such as the Combat Infantry, Parachutist and Glider Badges, Army Commendation, Good Conduct, Korean Service, Vietnam Service, National Defense Service and the United Nations Service Medals. He was the owner/operator of E. & J. Remodeling for 11 years, retiring in 1993. Jim was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Marblehead, OH. He was a member of the V.F.W. Stanley Jadwisiak Post #7572, the Retired Enlisted Association and the Danbury Senior Center. Jim will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory are: Loving Wife of 63 years: Margaret R. Pahl; Daughters: Valerie J. (Robert) Glovinsky and Brenda A. Pahl; Son: Brett N. Pahl; Grandsons: Paul (Katie), Robbie (Jeanette) and Scott (Cortnie) Glovinsky; Granddaughter: Alexandria Lynn Pahl; 4 Great-Grandchildren and Honorary Daughter: Sharon M. Velliquette. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: William and Richard Pahl and sister: Janet Wellman. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, January 03, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Marblehead, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury Twp. Fire Dept or the Ottawa County Humane Society. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, assisted the family with arrangements.
