JAMES R. OSBORNE James R. Osborne, age 69, of Northwood, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012, after a 3 month battle with lung and bone cancer in his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on January 31, 1943 in Patterson, NC. to Ray and Opal (Greene) Osborne. Jim was employed as an Engineer with Radisson Hotel, he was the also employed as the Assistant Chief of Security for 8 years at MCO, and the Assistant Chief of Security for Riverside Hospital. On May 25, 1973, Jim married the love of his life, the former Janet Cotter. He was a member of Northwood Church of God, where he served on the Board of Trustees for 3 years, and sang in the Sunday Choir. Jim also volunteered as an Assistant Grief Counselor for the support group at St. Charles Hospital. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Janet; aunts, Becky Keller and Dorothy Roark, uncle, Carl Osborne Jr.; many loving cousins; niece, Crystal (Alan) Cannon and Monica; their dear friends and Christian Brother and Sister, Ken and June Williamson; special neighbors, that they grew to love just like family, Jason and Jennifer Sakac, and their children, Brook, Grace, and Jayden; and Jim’s daughter, Sherry Herman. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, James Wayne Osborne; and brother Clyde E. Osborne. Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 2-8pm in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 701 N. Main St. Walbridge (419-666-3121). Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11:00 am. in Northwood Church of God 1838 S. Coy Rd. Northwood, Ohio 43619, with a luncheon to follow. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30pm in Shiffler Cemetery Rt. 127 Pulaski, Ohio. Memorial donations may be made to Northwood Church of God or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
