James C. Oehlers passed away May 30, 2022, at the age of 86. Born Dec 28. 1935 to the late Casper and Virginia Oehlers, Jim was a lifelong Toledo resident, and was a dyed-in-the-wool “North Ender”. Jim graduated from Macomber High School and a few years after married Martha “Marti” Graham, who he enjoyed 45 years of marriage with until her passing in 2001. He started working at L.O.F. in Rossford at the age of 18 and remained there until his retirement at the ripe old age of 48 in 1984, making him a member of the “30 and out club”. An easy-going guy with a good sense of humor and the desire to live a simple life, he loved music, the Ohio State Buckeyes, NASCAR, covered bridges, trains, and had an insatiable appetite for Oreo cookies. Surviving are his sons Jeff Oehlers, Tim (Kathy) Oehlers, Greg (Jackie) Oehlers and daughter Lisa Bitter, grandchildren Brad, Dawn (Elyssa), Erika (Stephen), Ryland (Amanda), Nicholas (Liz), Cameron, Griffin (Meredith), Kristen (Stevie), Bethany (Ruben), and Julie (Kodie), eight great grandchildren, brothers Ken (Marilyn), and Dave (Edwina”Sis”) Oehlers and sister-in-law, Sandy Oehlers, as well as nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by brother Larry Oehlers, sister-in-law Judy, as well as his dear fiancé, Patricia Fulwider.
