He was one of the founding charter members of the Rotary Club of Perrysburg and held meetings in their Front Street home before charter was granted by Rotary International. After the death of his beloved Alecia in 2007, James found love again with a fellow Rotarian from Perrysburg Rotary Club. On May 15, 2010, he and Dawn Schmidt were married. Together, they travelled the remaining states, until Jim had visited at 50 states. He was introduced to Opera, Symphony and Theatre and attended many events, fund raisers and shows when not relaxing in Florida. While at home here in Perrysburg, Jim enjoyed golfing and gardening. James enjoyed the many golf trips around the country, playing poker and in later years spending his winters in Florida.
